Gravity goes platinum
At this year’s Marcom Awards, we’re delighted to have been awarded 12 platinum and 4 gold awards – an agency record! This year’s competition was particularly fierce, drawing over 6,000 entries from 34 countries, with some fantastic work across a number of channels. In their mission to honour excellence, the Marcom Awards seek to recognise creativity and the hard work of marketing and communication professionals around the globe. We’re always proud of our output here at Gravity London, and we’re thrilled to have our work recognised at one of the largest competitions of it’s kind.
We’re on a roll…
This year’s B2B Awards were held in the spectacular surroundings of the Honourable Artillery Company, and Gravity were once again headline sponsor. It was a fantastic night, mixing with our peers and seeing some fantastic work showcased. We were thrilled to walk away with two award statues ourselves, winning a silver for Aviva Investors for Best Multi-channel Campaign and a gold for Best Branding Initiative for CFM, adding a little extra sparkle to an already glittering evening.
As well as these we’ve just added another statue to the cabinet, winning Best Integrated B2B Campaign for our work on Aviva Investors: AIMS Target Income Fund at the Financial Services Forum Awards on 1st December. A brilliant way to end the year.
Embraer in China
This year has been a huge year for Virtual Reality, with the launch of several incredible platforms that showcase this magical technology. For demonstration at this year’s China Airshow in Zhuhai we developed a VR experience for aerospace client Embraer. Utilising the HTC Vive, the VR experience took users on a tour of the cockpit – where they ran through a pre-flight check simulation – and an interactive showcase of the aircraft’s features. Visits to the stand (manned by our very own Will, Kimia and Bilyana) were by appointment only for senior figures in the Chinese aviation industry, where we were one of the only companies offering a fully immersive VR experience. We know we’re only at the start of this amazing technology’s capabilities, and we’re pleased to have a selection of clients so willing to employ technology at the cutting edge.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve been working with MedTech company ConvaTec on their global branding in the lead up to their IPO. The offering was an enormous success for ConvaTec, where they raised over £1.47bn, valuing the company at over £4bn and launching them straight into the FTSE 100. A client for a number of years now, ConvaTec are a shining example of what we believe can happen when you harness the power of Gravity.
Newbies feel the pull of Gravity
Ever since we opened our new office down in Kent, Gravity has been growing and growing. This month we’re welcoming two new recruits, Junior Retoucher Emily Hocking and Creative Designer Nathan Wood, both of whom have settled in very well, getting involved with some big new projects in the agency.
A special delivery in time for Christmas…
We’d like to congratulate our Group Account Handler Tempe Ginsberg and husband Nick on the birth of baby Elizabeth. To celebrate we sent down a hamper full of goodies and we hope this new family had a very happy first Christmas together.
We’re baking up a storm
We at Gravity are known to have a bit of a sweet tooth, and in September we indulged it fully with the Great Gravity Bake Off. With keen bakers coming together from across the agency to raise funds for the MacMillan Cancer Campaign, it was a brilliant morning – raising a total of £266.65 for the charity. The winning cake was deemed to be Maria and Samantha’s ‘Trump’ Cake – high-rise caramel tinted behemoth, much like the man himself.
For Investec we undertook an enormous shoot in order to refresh their zebra stock library. Film and photography over the last decade has changed shape completely, with HD resolution becoming the standard for all work, so a team from Gravity headed down to Heycombe Zoo in the stunning Cotswolds to get new ultra high def imagery and video. After 4,217 stills, 5,600 gb of footage and the acting skills of 2 extra special zebras, Investec are ready to take their ‘Out of the Ordinary’ brand icon into the 4K age.
